Feather D-2

Feather AS-D2 Stainless Safety Razor Love it, I used the D-1 for several years, best razor I ever had, it still looks brand new, and I shave every day, so I decided to try the D-2. This is for sure the best razor I have ever used. Anyone that has not tried a Stainless Feather, needs to ! And buy it from West Coast : )

Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor This was the first safety razor I bought a few years ago and I love it. It gives a much better shave than any of the disposible or electric razor I've ever used. The only time I cut myself was during the learning process when I made the mistake of using cheap blades. I've been using Feather blades ever since (actually I came here today to order more) and have never had a problem. I have one other three piece safety razor now that I bought for travel and it doesn't hold a candle to the 34C. The knurling on the handle makes a huge difference.

Merkur 23C Long Handle Safety Razor I've had this razor a couple months now and am new to wet shaving. Never had a nick or cut. Great heft. Feels substantial, but not heavy. Well made.

Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor Fantastic razor. Heavy and glides through my heavy beard. Beats all plastic disposables.

Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor I've used a lot of razors but non shaved as well as the 34c. In my opinion the best razor out there as far as performance, chrome finish is good but maybe not as good as Edwin Jagger's, but at its price point can not be beat in my humble opinion!

Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor Sorta a bit early for me to review bc i am fairly new to this form of shaving. I've only tried Astra and Persona Platinum blades. They're both similar bladed in my opinion. As far as using this thing I love it. I mostly enjoy the understanding of proper technique and that I can really work at getting every hair stubble without massive irritation like using a cartridge style if at least three blades. The Merkur has good quality and heft and I find it to be mild with the blades I've used to far. As many have stated a great beginner razor.

Feather AS-D2 Stainless Safety Razor I have very sensitive skin with Rosacea and a tough beard which makes shaving a bit sketchy and will result in razor burn if I make more than two passes. The Feather works together with the mighty Muhl r41to complete the task. I load the Feather with Personna Lab or Medical preps and the Muhl is equipped with a Derby. My shave routine is Shower, use Floid Shaving oil, then lather up using a bowl full of whipped up shaving soap. Most of my shaving is accomplished with the Feather. Then I finish off the bristles that the Feather didn't quite get with the gentlest pressure on the Muhl and my face is BBS. I have to switch out the blades on the Feather at least after the 2nd shave and the Muhl takes maybe 4 or 5 total. If I really want to speed things up I will use Feather or Kai Razor Blades in the ASD2. Just be mindful of the fact that these razor blades are extremely sharp and will gouge you even when loaded in a Feather AS D2. For people who don't suffer from the same facial conditions that I have, the Feather ASD2 with Feather or Kai Blades will do the trick IF you use the razor at the proper angle. Read the other reviews to get an idea on how best to use the ASD2 in these cases.
