First Time Safety Shaver

West Coast Shaving Starter Kit - Build Your Own Well after my first shave with this set I have to say.... I LOVE IT! It took me about 45 mins to get the job done and everything cleaned up! I don't think I will EVER go back to the cartridges again. I only had 1 little nick but for the most part a very enjoyable experience. I'm sure with more and more use it will be quicker and an even closer shave but very very pleased!

West Coast Shaving Starter Kit - Build Your Own Love the razor! Great weight and high efficiency. Lighthouse brush is a beauty, too. Haven't used the WCS Ocean shave soap yet, but it smells great. Astra blades are always a welcome addition. Shipping was pretty quick, too!

West Coast Shaving Starter Kit - Build Your Own This should not at all be called a "starter kit" in that the name infers that it's more or less throw-away and only for a newbie. This is top quality gear and the razor (as pictured) will last for years. I am actually thinking about getting a second start kit as the deal is just that good!! I love wet shaving and love this product!

West Coast Shaving Starter Kit - Build Your Own Goodbye to 25 years of cartridges, hello to safety razors. I can't believe it took this long to convert, this is my first safety razor and not only does it give a far closer shave, it's also more accurate and way less razor burn. I can also buy a boat load of blades for the price of a couple cartridges. Getting to choose your own components in this build your own kit is pretty cool, too. I love the ocean scented soap. I'll definitely be a long term WCS customer. I'd have thrown down a 5 star review, but when I order from "West Coast" shaving, I didn't expect my merch to come from Maryland. I was in a time crunch or it wouldn't have been a big thing, still isn't a big thing, just found it odd, I order from West Coast companies if I'm in a bind due to the quick ship times being here in Seattle. Anyway, cheers to WCS.

Great Set with Great Starter Options

Safety Razor Set of Best Sellers I can't say how much I love my Merkur 34C Heavy Duty! This was my first attempt at wet shaving (I had used cartridges and electric until now) and I can say this kit was everything a beginner needs. The razor is great, it is a moderate aggressiveness, so you shouldn't feel like your face is being attacked. The stand is beautiful and simple. The Omega 636 Silvertip Badger brush is a great brush. Once broken in it is very gentle on your face and I enjoy how it feels. The sampler was nice, but I think a customer could be better served with a tube of Proraso green shaving cream or a tub of Proraso green shaving soap--especially if they are a new to wet shaving. Lastly, I worked through the complimentary Merkur blade that comes with the 34C and it was great. I have tried the Personna blades, but can't say I'm in love with them. They are sharp and work, but I was always left with some minor cuts. I've now tried the feather blades and those have been wonderful. I am looking forward to trying the Astra and Crystal blades.

This is a great starter kit and I would recommend it.
